- How did you meet?We met at a bar and were introduced by mutual friends. Devin was out celebrating his buddy’s birthday, and Sammi was forced by her friends to take a much needed break from her MCAT studying. Once we were introduced, we were inseparable for the rest of the night!
- What do you remember most about your first date?For our first date we went out for sushi then to an arcade bar. Sammi remembers beating Devin at all the arcade games, while Devin’s most memorable moment was when he made Sammi laugh so hard she spat out her edamame!
- When did you know he was the one?Not long after we met, I broke my ankle. Since I was living alone at the time, Devin made sure to come by to help cook, clean, and keep me company while I was bedridden. Seeing how kind, thoughtful, and attentive he was when I was at one of my lowest points made me realize that I wanted to keep him in my life forever.
- How did you feel the moment he proposed? Were you surprised by his planning?Shocked. We had talked about getting engaged, but I still wasn’t expecting it at that moment. We went up to my cottage for the weekend and decided to visit the place where we found our first red Adirondack chairs. We wanted to get a picture in them again to see how much we’ve grown from when we first started dating three years ago. When we finally got there, Devin got down on one knee, and I was at a loss for words. In true Devin fashion, his planning was heartfelt, meaningful, and absolutely perfect for us.
- What do you like to do as a couple?We like to travel, especially to different Canadian National Parks to find the red Adirondack chairs. It’s on our bucket list to visit chairs in all provinces and territories. We also like board games, wii games, and going to baseball games.
- If you could use 3 word to describe the theme of your day what would they be?Elegant, love, and perfect
- What is it about my photos that speaks to you?When we first saw your photos at the Wedding Expo, we were blown away by how elegant they seemed. We had passed by quite a few other photography booths and liked the photos, but when we saw yours, we instantly fell in love. We didn’t realize that we could like pictures THAT much. To top it off, when we saw that the photos we loved were from couples who often felt unphotogenic or awkward in front of the camera, we knew that you were the photographer for us!
- What is the one thing that attracted you most about your partner?She has this magnetic energy that draws people in and makes them feel like they’ve known her forever. He always knows what to say to make you smile and forget about whatever it is that you’re worrying about.
- Tell me 3 things about your partner that describe them best?She’s beautiful, driven, and intelligent. He’s funny, patient, and hardworking,
- Tips or advice that you would give to future couples when planning a wedding?Enjoy it! At the end of the day it isn’t about the wedding, it’s about the marriage. Things will go wrong and not how you planned, but being able to go through it all with your person will give you something to laugh about later on.
- How did you feel about the engagement session after it was all over?Relieved and excited. We felt pretty nervous going into the shoot because we both don’t consider ourselves photogenic, but after seeing some sneak peaks, we’re considering starting a modelling side hustle!
