Light & Airy Wedding Photography Style
One of the four styles of wedding photography is called Light and Airy.
Also referred to as bright and airy, fine art, and high contrast, and it can be described as soft, romantic and pastel.
Our style is considered "dark and moody", classic, colourful and vibrant because that's the light we prefer so that's what we generally showcase in the website portfolio.
What creates light and airy photos:
- indoor ceremony space with lots of windows and white walls
- outdoor ceremony space with wide open views
- late morning to mid day and afternoon ceremonies
- high contrast light from sunny days
- all white rooms
- all white decor
Light and airy photographers have a more evenly edited photograph and edit with less contrast or shadows.
LIGHT MATTERS
If you're wedding is outside in the summer season and all your portraits are in direct sunlight then you'll likely have a lot of light and airy photographs because that's the light we are working with on your wedding day.If you've got an indoor ceremony and options for indoor portraits then you'll likely receive dark and moody photographs because of the light we have to use.
If you're having an outdoor wedding in inclement weather such as a heavily clouded sky or brewing storm, rain or high winds then you're probably going to get a lot of dark and moody photos.
